MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH A DELTA-8 THC BEVERAGE ENHANCER - Two Hawk Extracts

MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH A DELTA-8 THC BEVERAGE ENHANCER

The market for Delta-8 THC is truly astonishing, what with new brands and products popping up almost daily. You’re probably familiar with some of the basic products on the market, such as soft chewy gummies or screw-in cartridges. But perhaps you’ve heard of a new form of Delta-8 THC that’s taking the industry by storm: Delta-8 THC beverage enhancers! I tried this new drinkable form of Delta-8 THC for the first time and was very impressed with the results. I’d like to share my experience with you so you have an idea of what to expect should you ever come across the same brand or similar products. Before I detail my experiences, I’d like to first take a moment and briefly discuss what Delta-8 THC is and what to expect.

A Very Brief Overview of Delta-8 THC

Both the cannabis and the hemp plant are filled with naturally occurring cannabinoids, some psychoactive and some not. The most infamous of these cannabinoids is Delta-9 THC. Some of you may already be familiar with this cannabinoid as it is the active compound in marijuana and is responsible for its powerful high. Marijuana is making impressive legal headway in terms of both recreational and medicinal use, but many users have been scarred by its overwhelming effects. Delta-8 THC offers a smoother and more subdued high that leaves you feeling euphoric and relaxed, all while leaving you clear-headed and in control. According to the 2018 Farm Bill, Delta-8 THC is legal as long as it has a total THC content of 0.3% or less.

The high from Delta-8 THC varies both on the individual and the product consumed. Factors like age, gender, metabolism, previous exposure to THC, and others will determine how intensely you feel your high. The type of Delta-8 THC product and how much of that product also play an important role in how heady your high will be. For first-time users, it’s recommended to start off with anywhere from 5-15mg of Delta-8 THC and increase the dosage either after enough time has passed or the next time you use the product. Keep in mind that there is no “one size fits all” when it comes to dosages. Many users report their sweet spot between 20 and 30mg of Delta-8 THC, but feel free to tailor the amount to your specific needs.

Common Effects From Delta-8 THC

There are several common side effects that occur from Delta-8 THC products. Some of the more pleasurable effects include dreamy euphoria, enhanced sense of taste and touch, heightened sexual arousal, increased appetite (munchies!), deep relaxation, and better creativity and focus. Some of the less-pleasurable side effects can include reddened eyes, dry mouth, dizziness, disorientation, and drowsiness. In order to prevent some of the less desirable side effects, start off small with your doses and be sure to consume Delta-8 THC in a safe environment. Do not attempt to drive or operate machinery while under the influence of a Delta-8 THC high. When trying Delta-8 THC products for the first time, always make sure you have several hours to kill and keep a bottle of water handy. This information isn’t intended to scare you away from trying Delta-8 THC, but rather to inform you of what to expect. You may experience some, all, or none of these side effects, but the more you know, the better you can enjoy your high. Now that we’ve gone over some of the basics of Delta-8 THC, I’m excited to share my experiences of a Delta-8 THC beverage enhancer with you! Let’s begin!

My Experience with a Delta-8 THC Flavored Drink Enhancer

There are a number of drink enhancers on the market, but today I’ll be reviewing a Pink Lemonade flavored Delta-8 THC Beverage Enhancer. Delta-8 THC beverage enhancers are a fairly new product in the market and, as such, there isn’t much information about the effects, start times, or overall experience. The powder can be added to either a hot or cold beverage, but not alcoholic ones. The packet contained 25mg of Delta-8 THC and weighed a little over 3 grams.

I was a little frustrated that there was no mention of how much liquid to use when mixing in the beverage enhancer. I decided to play it safe and use a standard glass of about 8oz of cold water. I used the small tear tab on the packet to open it and dumped the contents into the glass, noting that the powder was very fine and mixed easily into the water. There wasn't any leftover powder on the bottom of the glass and the pink hue was somewhat darker than I had expected. The fragrance of the pink lemonade made my mouth water and I eagerly took my first sip. Now, I didn’t use any ice and the water was fairly cold, but I felt like the beverage lacked a little more of the sweet flavor I was hoping for. The flavor was tart and tangy with a very slight taste of hemp in each sip. I consumed the entire beverage with my dinner, which took me about ten minutes. I noticed that towards the end of the drink, there was a slight burning in my throat as well as a more intense sourness. Once my glass was finally empty, I noted the time and sat back in eager anticipation of the effects.

I did not have to wait very long. In fact, the effects kicked in much faster than I anticipated. Within about five minutes after I had downed the last drops, I felt a very intense onset of effects. I felt a light dizziness that quickly transformed into a heady high for both my mind and body. I felt floaty and relaxed while experiencing a weighted sensation that made it difficult to get up from the couch. I experienced short bursts of creativity and enhanced focus along with a warm euphoria. My face, hands, arms, and feet started tingling and soon it felt like my entire body was vibrating with a heightened sensitivity to touch. The minutes seemed to pass extremely slowly and I felt slightly disoriented as time progressed. After about 20 minutes, the high seemed to intensify even more and I felt a little nauseated and went to lie down. I felt like the room was spinning and noticed that my speech became somewhat slurred. Surprisingly, I didn’t experience any dry mouth and my mouth actually felt wetter. I had difficulty keeping my eyelids open and yearned for a deep and refreshing sleep. Sleep came easily and I slept soundly through the night. I awoke the following morning with traces of the high lingering for about half an hour before evaporating completely.

Conclusion

I really wish there had been more information about what to expect with this Delta-8 THC Beverage Enhancer. The recommended amount of water to use, whether it’s more enjoyable with hot or cold water, if you should eat a meal or consume it on its own, how quickly to expect the effects, and how long the effects typically last. I realize that a lot of this information depends on the user, but it would have been a lot less stressful if there had been some basic guidelines. I’ve only tried this beverage enhancer with cold water and am curious to see how the flavor and effects would be with hot water.

Yet despite all this, I was absolutely floored with the sheer excellence this product delivered. The powder mixed easily and transformed my ordinary glass of water into a Delta-8 THC enhanced beverage. The flavor was tart and tangy and paired well with my dinner. The high was hard hitting and lasted for several hours. The effects came on extremely quickly and delivered a delicious mind and body high that delighted my senses with each passing minute.
